Good to know
- JPG and WebP have a quality setting; PNG is lossless, so for photos it is usually larger.
- Changing a transparent image to JPG makes transparent areas white, and we say so first.
- If the result would not be smaller, we tell you instead of offering a bigger file.

How do I reduce an image's file size?
Choose your image, lower the quality a little and press Compress image. For the biggest saving, also reduce the dimensions.
What quality should I use?
Around 75 to 85 keeps photos looking good at a much smaller size. Check the preview before you download.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression runs in your browser, on your device.
